EEA Nationals and Accession States

If you are an EEA national, you will benefit from a number of rights such as being able to work, set up a business and study in the UK, free of restrictions. You will also be able to bring your family members to the UK, which covers non-EEA nationals.

Whilst EEA nationals enjoy a number of freedoms and rights in the UK, applying for a residence card to register your right of residence in the UK will enable you to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain and eventually British Citizenship in the future. You will also need to apply for a residence card if you want your family members to join you in the UK and we can assist you with applications to register the rights of you and your family members.

A8 nationals (Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland Slovakia and Slovenia) and A2 nationals (Romania and Bulgaria) have more limited rights in the UK and we can advise you as to these rights, the Work Registration Scheme, equivalent Work Permit arrangements and HSMP. If you are in the UK on the Work Registration Scheme, you will eventually be able to bring yourself in line with the rights EEA nationals enjoy, such as applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain.
