Many people will have heard of the Science and Engineering Graduate Scheme (SEGS). However, this Scheme has recently been replaced by the International Graduate Scheme (IGS) and the government has widened its scope for who it can benefit. The IGS permits people outside of the EEA, who have obtained a degree or above on or after the 1st May 2007, to work in the UK for up to 12 months after completion of their studies under a Student visa.
If your course finished before the 1st May 2007, you may still be eligible to apply under the SEGS. The rules are slightly different than that for the IGS. The date you completed your studies and your course subject will determine if you are eligible to apply.
