Tier 1 (Post Study Work)
This category is designed to assist graduates who have completed a Bachelors Degree of higher within 12 months of obtaining their qualification/graduating from the UK, to apply for permission to work in the UK for a maximum period of two years. It is considered as a ‘bridging’ category to highly skilled or skilled work under Tiers 1 and 2.
If you are in the UK as a Student or the International Graduate Scheme, you should be eligible to extend your stay into this category. IGS holders were only given 12 months to stay in the UK and can therefore extend their stay for a further 12 months.
You must be careful with the documentation that you prepare for this application, as if the incorrect documentation is provided or you do not meet the maintenance requirement, your application is likely to be unsuccessful.
