Lester Dominic Solicitors: “A rated”

Lester Dominic has successfully secured a sponsor licence under Tier 2 of the new Point Based System which will replace the existing work permit scheme.

Immigration officers visited Lester Dominic in May as part of the sponsorship application and management process.

Today, the firm has been awarded a licence with an “A-rated” standing.

Senior Partner and Head of Immigration, Lester Kan, explains “It was a really good experience to be able to meet Immigration Officers face to face. The Immigration Officers are very pleasant and reasonable. They asked me some questions concerning my firm’s employment practices and management. Most questions concern common sense and good practice. It is also important for my firm to imagine itself being in the client’s position. I am very pleased that the firm’s application was approved and awarded an A rated Sponsor Licence.”

The current work permit scheme is due to be replaced by the Tier 2 of the Points Based System, under the new scheme, employers will no longer be able to employ any non-EEA nationals without a sponsor licence.
