Karen Shury has extensive experience in all aspects of Family Law. She qualified in 1990 and has been practising Family Law for some 22 years. She read Law at Coventry and completed the Solicitors Finals at Guildford College of Law. She trained at a West End firm and has worked for several firms across London as a Senior Family Lawyer.

Karen specialises in Ancillary Relief (financial settlements within divorce proceedings), negotiating difficult and complex financial settlements. She also undertakes Children Act matters such as contact and residence disputes.

She is a member of Resolution and adheres to their Code of Conduct, which advocates a non-confrontational approach to family problems and encourages solutions that consider the needs of the whole family. She is also a Mediator and Collaborative Lawyer. She has a calm and patient manner and is known for achieving successful outcomes.

Karen is also a Trustee for the Brentford & Chiswick Citizens Advice Bureau, which is linked to Feltham and Hounslow Citizen’s Advice Bureau.

Karen is currently working as a consultant within the Family Department.
